Dumba isn't being traded if a player that can play center in the top 6 isn't included in the trade.

They could flip those picks for that player. I can imagine it would be easier than centering a deal around dumba for a 2c

The jets need that first to draft a future 2c for themselves lol. So that’s not going anywhere. Imo they could just package these picks somewhere else and get a center. Maybe to Chicago for strome? But I really don’t see many teams who will or even can give up a 2c for dumba. I’m not dying he’s not worth that much, I just don’t see how the teams who have a 2c to move will have the space for dumba

Yeah I don't think they are good trade partners.

Both teams need centers (Minnesota needs centres even more than the Jets).

Other than that Minnesota could use a bona-fide goalie but I doubt the Jets move Hellebyuck.

I mean this still isn’t unrealistic considering the circumstances though. The only 2c’s potentially on the market are Dylan and ryan strome, max domi, Philip danualt, and Anthony cirelli. Other than Tampa bay, I don’t think any of those teams really need dumba, and Tampa can’t afford him. Therefore. A deal for a 2c straight up isn’t likely. Rather it’s either going to be a 3 team deal or a deal like this where minny gets assets that they then flip for a 2c.

As for long term, I think minny drafts one of lundell or perfetti at 9 so they have their future 1c and khovanov will be their 2c.

And minny has a goalie of the future in Kakhonen who has shown (albeit in a small sample size) that he has what it takes to be a starter in the nhl.

Might not be realistic but the Wild are in no rush to move Dumba. Its not like they have anyone to replace him.
