The issue is more that Hamilton is one of the best defensemen in the league. An argument could be made for best defensemen in the league before he got injured this season.

Yes. Seemed like pits fans want an improvement at 3rd line center and McCann was a healthy scratch wasn’t he? Plus the soo greyhound/Dubas history with McCann and Murray.

I agree he is one of the best. Could add the pits 1st too. Just wondering if both teams are looking a year ahead at the inevitable loss and need.

In the small possibility that the Canes dont re-sign Dougie, the Canes will get a better return.

If Carolina really thought they were gonna lose Dougie they’d be dealing him for a much better package

Hamilton's 3 years in Carolina are almost up...the guy can only stand to be on the same team for 3 seasons before his team mates/fans/media/coaches/himself turn against him and force a change of scenery.

An argument can be made that Andersen is one of the best goalies in the league, I mean he's had really good numbers for playing behind a less than capable D core, both are UFAs and both fill a need for both teams
