what do you think Laine's next contract looks like? With a flat cap? He has one year left. There is value there for a fairly one dimensional player (yes, scoring goals is a very good dimension to have)

The only hope that this trade gets taken is that Winnipeg ownership doesnt wanna pay Laine 10 million a season moving forward because they wont make that money back.

No fans in the stand will hurt teams like Winniorg the most and if ownership is looking to save money Laine would be the easiest way.

Still think they can find a better deal somewhere else though.

Simmonds is one of my all-time favorite Flyers, but he is not capable of playing 2nd line minutes at this point. The collective beating he as taken over his career as greatly slowed down his skating and limited his effectiveness. I hope that I am wrong and he rebounds. Just be careful penciling him into the top six.
