Description

If the these players can get 1st rounders with the offer Habs put in, I'd go for it. Gives us more 1st rounders, to get into Laval, some great 1st liners, space to bring up our young centers, and add 2 defense men able to size us up while providing good stats. All this and ability to keep Domi at a reasonable rate, and if he wants more then I would switch him and Tatar in the NDJ trade, and keep Tatar.

Well... with $22,660,357 I can distribute that in transition contracts for KK and Poehling (2 to 3.5M$ each (max 7M$ total for both)); Gallagher around 5M$/3yrs (7+5 = 12M$); Lek would get around 3M$ if he does well this year (12+3 = 15); Armia and Weal can be replaced by lesser contracts and with Caufield in his 2nd year he'll move up the chain; If Romanov can set in motion a change at the blue line, you may not need Petry who's getting older. So you still have 7+M$ in cap space to sign him (around 6M$/2yrs) or for some filler positions with Laval players moving up or another player able to move the puck.

You don't need to sign back EVERY player that are going to be UFA when younger players can do the job.

SURE we'll trade the second overall pick in this draft for Phillip Danault plus! Only you'll have to change the 2020 second to Kotkaniemi and Caufield, and the 2020 fourth to Romanov and Fleury. But you're close!
