Making the team younger and faster

Team: 2020-21 Minnesota Wild
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 4, 2020
Published: Sep. 4, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This is a whole bunch of trades so the odds they all happen are low but this creates a whole bunch of cap space to get Fiala and Kaprizov their big pay days in the coming years and it makes the offence younger and faster (the defence may be a bit lacking at this exact state but the wild have a few young defencemen coming up soon and can draft accordingly). Addresses the centre needs and actually gives them possibly the best defensive centre depth in the league. Hard as a fan to guess what kind of value players have but I tried my best. Don’t go too hard on me haha

Trades
1.
MIN
  1. Danault, Phillip
  2. 2020 2nd round pick (CHI)
Additional Details:
It’s hard to gauge Danaults value especially with the reports of him not wanting to be there recently because Suzuki took his role during the playoffs, we’ll have to see
2.
MIN
  1. Cirelli, Anthony [RFA Rights]
TBL
  1. Dumba, Matt
Additional Details:
Not sure how he fits into Tampa’s cap situation but you have to believe they’re shedding salary this offseason with someone like Palat or Johnson, plus it will give them contract security (Who knows if Shattenkirk/Bogosian stay)
3.
MIN
  1. Bellows, Kieffer
  2. Boychuk, Johnny
  3. 2021 1st round pick (NYI)
Additional Details:
The original trade was with Andrew Ladd but from the wild perspective taking on yet another awful long contract is a bad idea, Boychuks is shorter and he can fill in the RHD role until Addison is ready in a few years
NYI
  1. Parise, Zach ($1,250,000 retained)
Additional Details:
I have no idea what the amount is the islanders would want to be retained so I just threw a random number out there
4.
MIN
  1. 2020 2nd round pick (FLA)
FLA
  1. Staal, Eric
Additional Details:
This trade would more likely happen during the season depending on how the year goes, he’s a decent rental for a team lacking centre depth. Just picked Florida but could be any team
5.
MIN
  1. Georgiev, Alexandar [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
Gives the Rangers an asset for the odd goalie out of their three
NYR
  1. Greenway, Jordan [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
Wild seemingly only have left wingers, decided Greenway would be the odd one out.
6.
MIN
  1. 2020 5th round pick (OTT)
Additional Details:
Could be any team looking for a backup upgrade

As a Wild fan I love it, as a realist none of the other teams agree to these trades except maybe Montreal and Florida.

Yea no one is trading a #1 to acquire Parise. You probably would need to start at offering a #1 pick and then adding to get a team to take that contract straight up.

Lazy. I think it's a great fit! The 2nd might be too much, so turn it into a 3rd or whatever.

I would do Domi 1 for 1 with Brodin, Danault is more valuable then Domi in my eyes so Minny would be adding

Everyone on CapFriendly keeps assuming NYR are just going to ship off Georgiev for whatever they can get because he's "clearly the odd man out" or whatever, but if you follow along with NY media, pretty much everyone thinks that Hank has played his last game in the blue sweater, and the Rangers are very very high on Georgiev, not wanting to trade him unless it's for a really significant asset/package. Whether he'll be bought out or traded or retire is up to him of course, but a lot of us Ranger fans are coming to terms with the idea that he's on his way out.

I like Cirelli, but he is not a 1c. Danault, I'd think, would be the one I'd prioritize. . Especially since they have some good young def in pipeline that you could get back.
