Description
Am I crazy thinking the Canes should add a later pick for this year? Nylander is signed for another 4 years at a great price

I added another trade with some picks that I think would balance it out better, I don’t know maybe I’m wrong

Resigning Dougie would be easy just trade or let Seattle take AJ or Kerfoot

That’s pretty much what I have there, which honestly I think is an overpayment for a tandem goalie

No it's really not. a 2nd this year and Bracco are night and day.

Just like expecting a pair of 2nds for your 3rd string goalie is night and day compared to reality. If there were a market at that price, he’d be moved by now seeing as they’ve been trying to fleece teams with that price for months dating back to pre-TDL.

It's because we aren't shopping him. If we we're he would've been gone. The offers don't stop so I have no choice but to keep it realistic.

That doesn't get you Dougie, Dougie is a Norris candidate. Nylander is a very good starting point, but Andersen doesn't hold much value, so there will need to be a little more coming for Carolina to consider parting with their best defenceman

I think if Carolina decides they aren't re-signing him, this is a very good return for a rental. Yeah, hes a top 5 defenseman without a doubt (top 3 last season) but does that qualify more than this return for just one season of him?

Dougie will either cost 9M next season or walk. I know I wouldn't trade Nylander for just one year of Dougie, and I also know that we will be very hard pressed against the cap and might not be able to offer him a fair contract

Give you credit for having a 23 man roster. But "easy to sign Hamilton", now that's fantasy. For there is the $$$ to sign him without taking away from the team even more, and UFREEA, means Hamilton has choice of 32 teams to sign with,. So the trade is really one year of Hamilton for four year of Nylander.

2.5 retained on Andy, the 5.75 we already have space for and then moving AJ or kerfoot to Seattle or elsewhere and we have 12 mil in space, give hyman a raise of 1 mil raise and maybe barb or soup a raise let the other walk and we could sign Dougie for 10 mil no problem

I think so. It's 1 year of a DAMN fine D man. When Nylander gets you 4 years of a cost-controlled Pesce, Hamilton being the best D man in the league by all analytical metrics should net more than this. Carolina are more likely to extend him at an overpay than trade him below his value,

Exactly, I see so many AGMs for fans of other teams that say stuff like "well Georgiev is obviously the odd man out" not realizing that basically every reputable writer in NY thinks that Hank has played his last game in the blue sweater.

Not to mention that everyone seems to (very wrongly) agree that AG's just an average backup

Carolina won't trade Hamilton unless marner or matthews is involved
