Description

The isles looked gassed after finishing up game 7 and flying to EDM yesterday. A lot of self inflicted mistakes. I don’t mind getting embarrassed early in the series, but Trotz needs to make the right adjustments.

Ross johnston needs to be fired into the sun. He’s a 4th line player , and if he’s not going to throw some borderline dirty hits, then there’s no point in having him in the lineup. Dal colle is much better.

Assuming clutterbuck is injured. I would slot komarov on the 4th line and dal colle with pageau. In the two games dal colle has appeared in, isles have allowed 0 goals.

Tough to watch. Tampa is definitely the better team, gonna have to find a work-around. The D looked really bad, Pulock and Greene especially. Need to come back stronger and more focused next game

The D is the reason why we lost - isles were generating quality chances. Just need to rest up and make adjustments.

I don’t understand why the isles didn’t come out in the 3rd and start playing borderline dirty. The game was over

I have no idea who I would start. Both are capable goalies, ill trust trotz and korn on this one.

rn it seems like having two goalies means we have no goalies. neither seem like they deserve a start after tonight. Throw sorokin in a varly jersey

Goalies were left out to dry tonight - Greiss has been solid and varlamov was the MVP of the 1st and 2nd rd. One of them will step up.

I thought varlamov made some good saves , the team didn’t help him out at all.

Eh I wouldn’t worry about that, one of the reasons goalies play so well under korn/trotz is they are always mentally prepared

How is it a silly excuse?

The Lightning have had a week off the Islanders a day.
The Lightning have had a week to come up with a game plan for both Philadelphia and the Islanders, the Islanders had a day.
The Lightning have been in Edmonton 3? or 4 days now and are used to the western time zone. The islanders a day.

Mind you a lot of it was self inflicted, they had two chances to end it with Philadelphia and didn't. But, It was clear from the drop of the puck the Islanders looked gassed and had no game plan.

Even Cooper said it.

Hate Keith Jones and hate to agree with him but I do remember seeing it a bit who knows though I’d be the same way if I was getting shelled out by my team for 5 goals with no help

Thoughts on Dobson in for Greene, Dobson doesn't have the experience but he might have the legs to keep up with their speed.

That would be the right call, but you know trotz would never do that. Not only does he have the skating ability, but his defensive positioning is already well above average.

I’ve liked Greene’s play, I think he skates well for a guy his age, but it wouldn’t hurt to give him a game off

I think it has more to do with fatigue, and I guess playing his offside against Tampa is a bit more challenging. That’s my one problem with trotz, and he has cost the team plenty of games with his roster decisions , but since boychuk hasn’t been in the lineup , I’ve given him the benefit of the doubt considering boychuk was one of the main reasons why we were losing games before the pause.

I wish he would play Dobson, but the good thing is next season Dobson will likely play his way up to toews pairing, and I really do believe that can be one of the best pairings in the league.
