Wasnt sure how Tampa valued him, but they need cap room. Would Lafferty and a 2nd/3rd be more fair?

Just get rid of it. It’s unnecessary. Could save 4.5 million in cap space by just keeping Lafferty lol

Who will be 3C then? Can't depend on Lafferty or Blueger for 3C minutes.

Why can’t you depend on Blueger? That fourth line was the most consistent line last year and brings tons of energy. It’s also pretty annoying to play against. Perfect for a 3rd line checking unit.

Blueger is a solid 4C, nothing better. You take him off that line, who will replace him? Lafferty is a better winger than center. If the pens are serious about winning, they need a solid 3C that can play 2C when injuries come around. Blueger being 2C is a bad idea.

Angello
If you don’t want to go internally, then you could probably get someone like a brad Richardson or Cody Eakin for cheaper a cheaper contract without giving up assets.

That 4th line was basically a 3rd line. Everybody on that line played about 15 minutes a game which is 3rd line minutes. Don’t see why that line can’t be our 3rd line again

You are literally paying to move Hornqvist. Why would you then pay to bring in Gourde?

Do people even listen to themselves?

He is on a horrible contract that goes for 5 more years and rarely plays center

Why are we moving Hornqvist? Dude is still producing at a top 6 rate and we are paying extra to get rid of him?

Also, Tampa is in a serious cap crunch. If Gourde waives you can get him for dirt cheap. The problem is his cap hit.

McCann for Wood?? Thats a big L for Pens.
+ When has GMJR ever traded for picks? He just doesn't do that. He will get players back for anyone he trades.

Wood would ... LOL, I said wood wood ...

Anyways, He would be a nice fit here but not for McCann - U dont trade 23yr olds 1st rdr w/ upside that are versatile, have great shots, & have speed...

see- Tuch, Lindholm, Fiala all teams made those mistakes too

Pretty tough sale on Gourde for me. He's a solid player and I would be good with him as our third line center but not at anywhere near $5M. Tampa would have to retain like half of that salary for that to feel like a decent option, but I doubt they do that. If we were going to take on a contract like that for 3C, we should've just kept Bonino.

Also, I strongly doubt that CBJ wants to let go of Anderson for that cheap, especially within the division. Are they in danger of losing him or something?
