Hanks Not Retiring

Description
Self-Explanatory. Lundqvist retiring this year is a pipe dream. It's not impossible, but I'd bet my house he doesn't. I would try to do something like this... use the extra cap for a winger that can be insurance if neither Kravtsov or Gauthier is ready for second line

That's not enough for 10OA. Winnipeg drafts Lundell if he's there at 10 baring a large overpay.

You are likely going to need more cap space to account for bonuses.

If that's the case I would add a bit or just keep the picks they have and go for someone like Mavrik Bourque at 22

for the ANA trade i don't know if the value is necessarily off so much as the kind if value, I think the ducks would prefer Draft stock and young prosects. Maybe a better trade would be a first, Anderson and a third or something like that, add or subtract.

Can't you go over on bonuses for the year? Staal and Lundqvist come off the cap after next season, and the Rangers will have about 5 million less to pay in buyout penalties after next year too

Yeah, maybe the Rangers would keep those picks from the winnipeg trade and use them instead for a Lindholm one. They need a top lefty D

It sure seems like the Rangers are going to buy him out. There was an article in the Athletic a day or two ago.

Yeah as already stated the Jets need Lundell even more so they won't pass. IF he isn't then we would accept but I doubt you would want to trade up then.

it's going to be almost impossible for them to clear enough space. almost every team in the league is cap crunching. dropping salary on a team is going to be hard. if someone earns their bonus it's going to have to carry into the following season. the rangers are going to have enough cap in 21-22. realistically it's going to be 2-3 mill at the max, if anything. they'll have enough space to eat that without any problem.

Totally agree, value is close to fair maybe a little skewed towards the Rangers. I think we'd rather take the CAR first or a top prospect over Buchnevich. DeAngelo is really interesting because I have no idea what his value is, if this year is legit and not an outlier... he's a stud and could probably go 1 for 1 for Lindholm or close to it. There's just a lot of risk in projecting that, thus why his value should be somewhere in the middle.

Georgiev is not going to be traded. Lundqvist will waive for a trade or he will be bought out.
