Description
After a good season Colorado looked like a team who could win it all this summer, instead they were eliminated by Dallas in a game 7. Would they beat them without the injury of Johnson, Grubauer, Francouz or Landeskog? Mackinnon thinks so after earing a interview and personally I think too, but injuries are part of the game.
The good news is that Colorado bolster a impressive team, they have ton of capspace and they got the best prospect according to many in Byram that will help them as early as next season.
However they should be careful. Not because you have money you have to spend it. The season after Grubauer, Landeskog and Makar will all need new contracts and all of them will ask for raises. I think they will trade in order to get a top 6 player on a expiring contract for to reasons. One, they can expose him to Seattle, but make a side deal to not sign with them and two well he plays for one hell of a team and a chance to get the cup One player who think will be a good outfit in Colorado is Palmieri. He could form a good 2nd line next to Burakovsky and Kadri. With Byram and Timmins likely getting promoted and the emercenge of Graves. Zadorov would be the 7th or 8th defenseman with Cole so they could look to trade him. New Jersey will also likely wants another 1st round pick and a prospect. Cole should stay as the 7th defenseman in case of a injury or if Timmins is not quite ready.
Besides those moves I don't expect much change in Colorado. They could be even more dangerous next season with those changes and the future is still very bright for them.

Nichushkin Jost and Graves are all overpaid. Bowers isn't going anywhere, especially in a Palmieri deal

I think the real reason they lost was because the PP was terrible, 4 for 32 in the series, no injuries from pp1 till the last game either so can't blame the whole loss on injuries.

I was thinking Palmeri would be a good pick up for us as well, but i think that's too much to give away, i could see this being a deadline deal if we're still looking to solidify the right side mid season. i think kaut gets a look first to start the year

That's an overpay for Palmieri. The 24th pick on its own should be enough, or maybe with a small add. But i don't think he's an ideal fit.

Its the right value for Palmieiri...just two nit-picky things.

1. I don't know if Bowers would be right forward prospect. NJD needs right-shot / RWs.
2. It would probably occur after draft since they are going to try to resign him first. So probably 2021 pick.

Way too much for Palmieri IMO.

PP runs hot and cold, but the PK is the one that really lost the series. 61% successful kill rate is horrible for a high school team. How Nolan Pratt still has a job is a mystery.
