Hawks decline. Chicago isn't going to pick up a player about to turn 37 and own that contract for 2 years at $3.7M (with retention for 2 years). Hawks also aren't going to take on Backlund for 4 more years at $5.35M when Strome will cost less, is 23 years old and his point production is better and will continue to improve not decline. To suggest the Hawks also add a 3rd to this makes zero sense.

Reports surfacing that Rangers are going the Buyout route with Hank. Looks like they will retain Georgiev.

You have an aging Toews and Kane, you either accept you wont win with them or do something crazy because Chi is bad.

Also I think its debatable if Strome improves or declines

you've undervalued Gaudreau significantly. He may have had an off year but they will still get more than an A and B level prospect for him if they are trading him.

Eriksson's cap dump is more expensive than just a 1st. Marleau got that with 1 year.

He is a player that will have a variance of opinion on him depending on who you talk too and those are legit young pieces.

Sure but you don't pass up on a top 6 center because of a back up goalie

Could always work some magic here or there, but Neal is probably too much and idk if EDM would want to move Kassian.

So you think the answer is to spend more money on old players and move out young one's? That is just crazy thinking. Chicago is the 4th or 5th youngest team in the league and the goal is to continue to build around those young players with more young players, not over the hill expensive players. Kubalik, Dach, Strome, Debrincat, Boqvist, Ian Mitchell...that's a pretty good young core of players.

And Chicago is not bad, they are top 20, not bottom 10 and after a dynasty in the last decade with 3 cups it's expected when you retool developing a young core of players.

You have Brendan Smith listed as a Cap dump in the proposal, but i don't see him on your Roster. Would have them over the Cap.

Would imagine Calgary would want 22OA in a deal for Monahan. And i would be more inclined to give it to them instead of BOTH Chytil and Kravtsov. One, not both.
