Ottawa wouldn’t trade 3+5 for 1, let alone 3+5+a top prospect like Formenton for 1 lmfao

But the Rangers aren’t trading 1 anyway so it doesn’t matter

Not even in regards to you directly; I think 3 & 5 are going to be more impactful and more important than 1. I really like Lafrenière but if Stützle drops to 3 that’s huge for Ottawa and if he doesn’t Byfield isn’t a downgrade. And then whoever they could grab at 5 could he just as good as anyone else. It’s a real crapshoot this top 10-15, really the whole first round could become a mess

Matthews would be the only thing that gets #1 Overall. Both teams aren't interested obviously.

both teams? I would think NYR would seize the opportunity to grab a 50 goal franchise two way center, no? Of course Laffy is worth a lot but even if he can match Matthews' production centres are far more valuable than wingers. Would make the Rangers literally unstoppable once they found another good LD

Worded that wrong. Rangers don't want to trade the pick unless a player like Matthews is offered. Leafs have no incentive to do so. Moot point.

Everyone is just waiting to help out Toronto here so they can clear cap space and get some top prospects and UFA. Yeah Toronto still think it’s the centre of the universe.

Echoes of Colorado fans that were sure they had hughes. Who I then told them would not be as good as Matthews. Oh how they ridiculed me.

I will say it right here. It is a long shot that lafreniere will ever be as good as Matthews. I think he will be a great winger.

Neither team really has the incentive to role the dice on this move though.

he probably wont be as good as matthews, i also never said he would be. although, lafreniere is going to be paid 10 mill a season less. thats a big deal in this cap world.
