Bolts do, values fair but Tampa’s not looking for scratch tickets

Id imagine Tampa prioritizes keeping Sergachev over any of their other free agents and will move mountains to do it

It's usually a good sign when fans of both teams say no...

IMO, it's probably a good deal for Buffalo. Sergachev immediately fills a large hole on the back end that they're not going to get any time soon from whoever they nab at 8 OA. He's the right age, and is a star on the back end (Who you'd hope to potentially get at 8OA).

It would fix a lot of potential cap issues in Tampa, but it'd hurt them long term, so if I was them, I'd be looking elsewhere to get my cap problems solved. With him and Hedman, they're pretty set long term on the back end (If they can keep him).

I’ve asked multiple times and the vast majority of TB fans say Cirelli is more important moving forward. With that, unless TB is able to unload two of Johnson, Palat, Yanni, or Killorn; they won’t be able to sign either RFA and still have a complete roster

Buffalo does, they have Dahlin, a ton of D prospects and they could take Sanderson there

I agree that Tampa says no - they will need to replace with lower cost options, not picks.
why in the world would Buffalo say no?!

because we have a desperate need to infuse youth in our forward group and have invested several recent early pick on LHD and have 5RHD currently

Last time I checked, he is under contract for 6 more seasons.

If they take Sanderson over a forward this year I’m gonna go ballistic. The last thing we need is more god damn defensive prospects. We are so bare in terms of forward prospects that the best one by far is Cozens after that it’s Thompson, Ruostolainen and Mitts. after that I have no idea because most of them are going to be career AHLers.

I would not be disappointed with Sanderson. the Sabres D would be stacked for a decade. Your also forgetting Pekar and Davidsson. They can pick up a RWer in the 2nd round. But I meant that comment in the context of this trade, why trade for Sergachev instead of picking Sanderson and riding his ELC for 3 years, gives them time to clear out Okposo
