Description

DET likley wont be a competitive team for another 3 plus years, so they should use some cap to get young players or picks. The flat cap will only make teams pay more to move bad contracts. The point of this post is to hear opinions on this idea of DET taking on a few additional bad contracts to boost there prospect pool and young NHLers.

The specifics trades them selfs are not the point of the post but the idea of DET using there cap to gain picks and prosepcts. Was really looking for opinions on that?

I have a feeling Jones will rebound and be around a .915 this season after the extended layoff and now having Nabby as Goalie Coach

Okay I completely understand the concept of paying a hefty price to dump Jones’ contract, but that’s just a ludicrous overpay just to get rid of that contract. Big no thank you from the Sharks.

Ya no. We will keep Merkley lol. Giving away a potential elite D to dump a goalie is the kind of trade that you look back on and get roasted about
