The canes seriously consider pesce for Nylander I believe. It just becomes the issue of how do the hurricanes then acquire a rhd because Hamilton would be the only one left. The canes depth on the right has really fallen off since they traded Faulk and won’t resign tvr. If they could maybe resign vatanen or another rhd I would be good with it

This forum has already set the return on Johnsson as a 3rd as moving this player is just a straight cash dump to make room for Petro and if the leafs did sign him I could see that becoming a 4th at best but wouldn’t be shocked if it was a 5th.

So that’s a massive no and we’ll wait until your desperate and have no option but move him for nothing

Johnsson gets a late 2nd or early 3rd imo but not much more. He still would have been on pace for 40 points this season had he played the full season so I'm not sure why everyone thinks he is a cap dump. Probably just because he plays on Toronto that's all.

Andersen trade is fine in terms of value I'm just not sure that goalie tandem would work for Toronto though.

Nylander for Pesce is an overpayment and the leafs would just never make that trade I'm sorry Canes fans. It just screams Hall for Larsson as it's an Elite scoring winger for a defensive defenceman coming of a "just ok" year.

He would need more in a canadian market. Try 10 million. That’s what it would take. Also, you’re basically at the cap without a full roster. This doesn’t work.

I was thinking with the flAt cap this may be a first for a sign and trade, it's be beneficial for all parties involved. I thought it wouldn't work before but the more I thought about it, may be the way to go.

My point is that should be the most the Leafs can offer him.

7y @ $8.25M also gets A LOT more attractive when you factor in maximum bonusing like the AM34 and MM16 deals.

No one in the league is paying him $10M. Not in this economic climate. Not with so much uncertainty and a flat cap.

You’re right! But he won’t be signing in canada either then.

Players don’t want to sign in canadian markets given the opportunity. I always get a chuckle out of Burke saying if he gave a player a limited NTC where they could pick 6 places they couldn’t be sent, it would always be the other 6 canadian teams.
