Ugh - buffalo - its a nice offer but im not looking to search for a brand new 1c just to add a top end left winger...especially if im still stuck with skinner at 9mil. No legit nhl 1c no eichel, i just can't go through it again. So you need to send me Zibanejad back just to talk. You could give me NYR 2020 1st and your next 5 1st's and i hate not taking that bundle but there needs to a 1c even if he's the worst 1c in the league its gotta be a 1c.

Buffalo says no and I don’t see the point in the AZ trade. The whole point of getting a LHD is having someone to pair with Trouba and the only reason AZ wouldn’t wanna trade Ekman-Larsson is to get out of his contract so they wouldn’t take on Trouba’s contract.

Arizona might agree, i dont see why not but whats NYR's angle? Do you miss shatenkirk so much you want OEL. Are you dispointed in trouba? If its for cap add trouba to that eichel trade things get interesting if it eichel and risto gor trouba and zabinejad.

BUF definitely says no. AZ says no too. If they are moving OEL they want draft picks and prospects not a vet making big $

Trouba's contract starts saving them money next season and beyond. It's not completely crazy.

Basically I think both OEL and Trouba are underperforming their contracts. Trouba's contract is more front loaded and would save money compared to OEL's middle/back loaded deal long term. NYR needs a quality LD, and playing with a guy like Fox could rejuvenate OEL a bit maybe

Demers:
50 GP 11 points, +5
Holl:
68 GP, 18 points, +13

Holl is also younger, and has a better contract with more term even if Arizona retained 50% on Demers.

yes, points mean everything for a defenceman. Plus minus is a garbage stat.

at 68GP pace, Demers on pace for 15 points. Better defensively, proven vet vs. guy who played decent for half a season

It really not that great of an offer. Lafreniere isnt projected to be on the same level as some of top prospects of the last 5 years

No he is not. All of McDavid, dahlin, eichel, matthews, and a few more would have been taken over him in the same draft. Not as bad as hischer, but not that much better.

read up a little more on this kid. He likely won't be an CM/AM/JE, but he is hyped up to be close to it

I've done plenty of watching. Hype doesn't equate to reality.

Holl is literally the more proven defensive guy. I don't want to go into details cuz I'm lazy but his other defensive stats back it up as well. Demers may be the more established player but he is on the decline. In the age where veterans are becoming more rare in the NHL, Holl is the better player to go with
