If Dubas even tried getting Hamilton for Andersen would explain where the leaf fans get their outrageous asks from. Haha good luck.

Form sources, GMs don't like him since he has a reputation for asking way too much. As a Leafs fan I love this!. We got the 15th overall pick and one of the Penguins best prospects for a third liner

Good.

Does non-starter mean that the trade did not go through or was the offer not enough as a conversation starter? I'm not understanding the context of this phrase

Why give up assets for Andersen when there is a glut of free agent goalies available? I do like that you sweetened the offer with a first round pick.

In any potential deal where Freddie is the main piece headed to Carolina, Hamilton is not going to be involved.

Do wut? We were just explained how unreasonable we were being for saying Dougie was worth more. Oh well I guess we’re still the idiots.

I would give up our first round pick and any prospect they want in an instant (other than Sandin and Robertson of course)

Agents love him though because he does the opposite with them.

Actually if he didn't ask for that he wouldn't be doing his job right. You always ask for more than you expect when you start negotiations. You don't ask for less and expect someone to offer more. Lol. Learn something.

I'm glad the Canes walked away.
Doug would be the worst Dougie of all the Leafs Dougies that ever Dougied.

gotta love the framing here, like dubas thinks Andersen is actually worth Hamilton and this wasnt some sort of start high negotiation tactic that literally every GM does. Also it's the 4th period and he's full of it

"A Norris Canditate for a mediocre 1B".
What? I'm sorry, but Frederik Anderson is a proven starter, defiantly not a 1B. Guess what, the canes are desperate for a starter. And you left out how there is also a first, 15th overall in a strong draft, and a great young defenceman. I get it, Hamilton is a great defenceman, but he on the last year of his contract (yes, I know Freddy is too), and therefore does not have the ridiculous value canes fans think he has. He's not worth Nylander.

Definitely not. There's a reason he keeps getting traded, when you get down to it he just isn't that good.
He's looking great in Carolina because the rest of the defense is propping him up. He'd crash and burn in Toronto because he'd be expected to lead.
This is the wrong guy.

yeah, again, that's not true at all. He's exactly what the leafs need and just because some idiot GM's traded him doesnt change how good it is. He'd be absolutely incredible in toronto, or any team for that matter. He was good in boston and then great in calgary.
seriously "keeps getting traded" is the dumbest reason to think a player isnt good.

"Keeps getting traded" isn't the reason I think he isn't great (see how I changed "good" to "great" there? Because I think he's good, I just don't think he's "one of the best defenders in the league that would instantly solve their biggest issue" like you say. He's a top 4 guy, he's not among the best in the league though and he is overrated, as I said, but good try on twisting my words sparky)
But I digress
I know he isn't great and THATS why he keeps getting traded

Uh huh, so he keeps getting trades because hes not great? That makes even less sense since then like 99% of players would be trades all the time.
Id love to hear your explanation why he isnt great, but im sure its very nick kypreos.
Have at er, hoss

Exactly right. He's good but not great so he holds value. His size and potential are tantalizing so his value gets over inflated.
He isnt good because he loses body position, gets caught out of position and gets caught flat footed far too often. He's a good defender but not among the best in the league.
Stop acting like I'm calling him pure garbage because you've only helped me make my point, that he's overrated.
