i think erik karlsson got less when he got traded and he was better than hamilton was at the time he got traded

I honestly think this value is close for Hamilton, but I think if you want him it would have to be Robertson included in the trade. They have lots of defensive prospects, especially lefties and don't need two guys in that spot.

Now, if you're trading Robertson, I am not sure the Leafs want to do it. But it would definitely look more attractive to Carolina.

Hamilton is a Norris level defenseman you have to pay for players like that. The NHL isnt the leafs farm system

Explain how he is a Norris level defenceman (never been in the top 5 of Norris votes). Even if he was, explain how he is worth 3 firsts as a rental. This is more than the sharks payed for Karlsson at the time (obviously not now with that first rounder being 3rd overall) and Karlsson was way better than Hamilton at the time. This package is a ridiculous overpay for Hamilton, Anderson and a 1st and Dermott would cut it.

If you think the thats a fair offer fine, but I guarantee the canes are not going to do that. Hamilton received Norris votes this year while only playing half of the season. Feel free to want and assets and then talk down on it every chance you get. Hamilton isnt getting traded so move on

I mean that may be his value to the leafs, but I can tell you his value to the canes is more than that. Also just do not even think the trade makes sense for the Leafs, they do not need a powerplay qb, you need some people who can defend. Hamilton is decent defensively, but his value is that his offense more than makes up for his defensive shortcomings. You certainly could not play Reilly and Hamilton together. I think Pesce is a better fit for the leafs, but the canes arent trading either unless the return is a big upgrade to the top 6

If you made 13 the 2021 1st i dont think its a bad offer. With that said I really just dont think the canes move Pesce either, every rumor has said the Canes would only move him in a 1 for 1 deal. The canes just really have no reason to move either Pesce of Hamilton, they are the canes only right shot defenseman. I could see them moving one of Skjei, Gardiner, Bean but those players wouldnt make sense for the leafs. The canes would really need to be wowed with an offer for Pesce to move him, otherwise i think they use a LHD and futures to make any kind of move
