Based on what I've read from virtually every NHL insider, Anderson's got a much higher demand and value than Mango. So you've got a pick heading the wrong way, at the very least. And if you're signing him for $2.2M, you're getting him for only one season. Darren Ferris isn't gonna give you that kind of a break.

a pick is only going that way because Anderson is an RFA so Toronto would still have to sign him, also Johnsson played a lot better than Anderson did last season. I do agree that the term could be shorter but I don't see him getting anymore that 2.5

I'm just telling you what I've read from LeBrun, Dreger, Friedman, and virtually every notable NHL writer. No question that Johnsson outplayed Anderson (who was injured in a 2019 playoff series) last year. But the general consensus among league insiders is that Anderson carries considerably more value.

Im not sure though, Ottawa has went after lots of leafs guys in recent years, hainsey, zaitsev, brown, ennis, and this is because former Leafs staff now work with the sens, so I wouldnt be surprised if they were interested

maroon gets less term because i feel like maroon would only want to sign a 1 year deal.

gm said hes going to give the chance for the young kids to promote internally, you have to think hes going to keep the bottom 6 open for the kids. considering we bought out bobby ryan to keep the depth free i dont think were looking to acquire more depth this season at least VIA trade. We have too many fringe lhd already to be interested in dermott.

then he's going to get a heck of a lot more money. Shorter term = more AAV, not the other way around

both maroon and pietrangelo have expressed interest in coming to the leafs, yes maroons cap is very low but thats why its a 1 year deal, and with AP, he is a toronto boy and if he knows that the leafs are offering him the most they can, he would do it

yea i also agree that he will get that if he goes to any other team, but the leafs are a unique situation since he wants to go there, similar to how spezza could have got more somewhere else but decided to take the minimum to stay in toronto

but why would he? other contenders will pay him more than that easily, it's not like he's a local boy like Spezza who wants to live in the house he's gonna retire in already

i listened an interview he did a couple days ago and he said how much he loved helping St Louis and Tampa getting through since they both stuggled in earlier years. Toronto is in a similar situation as those teams as they have struggled to win any rounds, so i feel like he would take less money to help get toronto through

AP is a Blue all the way, Toronto would have to offer him a pretty sweet deal to snag him
