Damn now that’s a realistic asking price for Johnsson without taking money back.

Well, arizona never in a million years does that deal. So yes, the leafs are still in significant cap trouble.

Andersen plus the 2021 first = Kuemper or Garland

Arizona isn't going from Kuemper's $4.5 million hit to Andersen's $5 million plus $2 million retention, no matter what the underlying economics are

TOR should have put Johnsson on waivers days ago.
But Dubas still thinks there is value there......

Personally, I think the leafs should keep Andersen even if they don't re-sign him because he's probably going to have a career year since it's a contract year.

also, you can probably get a 2nd or 3rd for Johnsson, but not the ducks.

he's a year removed from scoring 43 points and still did well despite facing injuries. I get the cap concerns but there's very clearly value there even with the 3.4 mill tag.

They wont need to get rid of him if they dont sign Pietrangelo. Why would dubas put the cart before the horse??
Johnsson has value. Before his injury he was playing better than Kapanen, and Kap just got a 1st and prospect so whoever says Johnsson is a 'cap dump' doesnt actually watch the leafs.

Tampa cant move their $5.5M forwards. Johnsson is an equal or better player than them at a much better cap hit. He is also much younger (25) than Tyler Johnson (30), Palat (29), and Gourde (28).

TJ is 30, makes 5.5 mill for longer, is on the decline, relies on his speed which will diminish as he ages, and is less productive than johnsson is

Killorn is a valuable asset that they just haven't moved yet
