You mean a florida trade that gets Zito fired after a terrific offseason?

The price would START at kerfoot.

Florida has an internal cap probably closer to 70-75 million they need roster players who are cheaper to keep around. Not everyone has the money of the big franchises

so they take on $2M for Holl when they could sign Weegar on a big back loaded deal that would cost them less or the same as that for this year

youre not getting a guy like Weegar for pennies

You’re actually wrong. Per Zito himself, there is no cap restrictions from ownership. Panthers would trade Weegar to improve their team...not make it worse. Holl, Dermott, late picks do nothing for them. Kerfoot is decent but not enough. Other teams would make better offers.

Lol no.

Can't see why FLA would move Weegar in the first place.

because they have a very expensive D core right now. almost as expesnive as there forward group. I thought they had an internal cap of close to $70M but Kosterjy_ says this is not the case so not too sure.

It depends very much on what kind of contract is Weegar signing - but if it is good value then there's no point making such a move.

I'd move some other D in this case.

The price starts at Sandin/Liljegren and Robertson. Take it or stop calling about Weegar. Your making Stralman calls and expecting Weegar....

That might be a bit high, but hey, if FLA offers that, sure TOR can have Weegar.

Overrated Justin "7th Defenseman" "Great with Muzzin" Holl and a 6th is the cost of Weegar's lunch.

Whats up with TO fans constantly trading Holl, Dermott and Engvall as if they we're actually worth something.

It was one of the first questions asked to Zito when he was hired. He stated that upper management has not given him any mandate to be under a certain cap. If a deal makes sense he’ll make it.

Engvall can be sent down I believe. Moving Holl and Dermott would simply open up a bit of cap space and opportunity for Lehtonen, Sandin, Bogosian. you could put them on waivers but i think you can get pick's for them.
