This could be a pretty tight team. Definitely a Wild Card, but with SJ's Playoff experience very possibly a surprise.

Ottawa could get a way better return for Tierney

I was mulling over true 3C options (not Handemark or Kellman like Kurz is suggesting, but a real 3C). I was thinking of Kahun, or even Sutter, but the best possible option would be bringing back Cobra!

It would fit with the locker room reunion that seems to be going on, and he could play all over the lineup if needed. Too bad he's behind a f**kin OTT paywall!!

I like the idea of it, but issue is 1) his arb case is going to make him expensive and 2) he’s going to cost assets to acquire. I’m game to go out and acquire someone, but it can’t include any of Chmelevski, Merkley, or 2021 1st round pick. If you can do Sorensen+True+2022 2nd and go get something of decent quality in a trade, I’m game but that’s about the max price I’d pay for a center. Otherwise just sign Soderberg if Haula is too expensive.

I hear you, but what I'm saying (and what we're seeing) is I don't think DW is setting out to acquire UFAs. If he was I think we'd have seen him do it already. I feel like he's either going to get someone like Cobra back to reunite teammates while staying young, making a big surprise trade for a franchise piece (like getting Laine somehow), or nothing at all. Kahun, Haula, Soderberg... he don't know them.

I'm definitely interested in the prospect of getting a legit center for sure. But with that being said, I don't know if OTT does this or not. If the biggest pick we have to give up is a 3rd+B/C grade prospects, I'd be down, but still a bit hesitant depending on what Tierney's arbitration $$ ends up being. But I think there would be better offers out there from other teams as well. I also have a soft spot for Cobra though so keep that in mind haha.

But hey you know what maybe Melnyk/Dorion decide to be cheap mother****ers again and decide to trade him for cheap. I dunno. Anything is possible.

100%! With Stutzle and Norris coming up (as well as their $925k price tags) I have a strong feeling OTT's just buying time to trade out Cobra. Why else would they have taken this long to re-sign him?

I'm not certain what his trade value would be, but if they can unload him for a reasonable return I think they will.

I think they probably don't want to give Tierney the full amount of money he wants (cause the Sens org is cheap af) so they're waiting for his arbitration hearing which is on November 8th. So if they are intent on keeping him, that's probably why it's taken this long. It's possible they don't want to keep him as well though. You never know.

Me neither, but if it's similar to what you've posted, I'm all in. This would only further Doug's plan to get the 2015-16 gang back together. The sens have a lot of solid guys in the pipelines and could quite possibly be wanting to get rid of him to make space for Stuetzle/Norris/Brown/Chlapik.

Fer sher... They soopah cheap!!

Also, I just had a thought! With Jumbo and Pavs gone, the locker room now truly belongs to Cooch.
Cooch and Cobra are super close friends (Doggy too, but he's in WPG), so adding Cobra back into the locker room will go a long way to cementing Cooch's influence and captaincy.

Kahun plays mostly on the wing. Sutter is basically done for. My picks we're Tierney and McCann

Brassard, Haula or internal for 3C. I think Handemark and Kellman are basically competing for it right now.

On Cobra, Sens still need to hit the cap floor so any trades would need to same or more salary going back to them

They're above the cap floor now, plus they have to re-sign Connor Brown, so I think they trade out Tierney. I'll just say this... I'm like 75% sure they move out Tierney. I've felt it since about April, I still feel it now. OTT (really just Melnyk) is suuuuper cheap.
