Well I read Isles offered him 7.5 but he was not interested in that idk I feel like the extra 200k isn't a big deal

2 years of Boychuk at $6 million per, Will cost far more then a single 2nd round pick.

I agree. If Marc Staal (with one year left at less cap) cost a 2nd round pick to dump, Boychuk will absolutely cost more. Boychuk, 1st, 2nd, and prospect (not Wahlstrom or Holmstrom) and we'll have to take a player back (from DET let's say Biega or Erne). It's doable for sure, but won't be cheap.

I don't know if Trotz would like Hoffman - and I don't know if Hoffman would do well in a Trotz system

But this team does need a goal scorer...

If they could do this they wouldn’t have traded Toews.

He's referring to a long term deal. A bridge at 7.5 would be insane to turn down.

When Pulock signed his bridge, he said the he and Barzal talked a few times over the offseason. They both want to take deals that allow them to stay on NYI and win together. I'm not suggesting Barzal will take something ridiculously cheap, but maybe for two years you could shave the AAV down under $7m
