Rangers pass. No need for Holl whatsoever and it would take more to pluck Lemieux.

Not sure why the Kings would want to do this. They like Moore.

. . . plus, it violates CapFriendly rule #2: you can't trade a homeboy away from his hometown team.

No, rule #1 is "If you can't spell him, you can't have him."

Fair enough. These really should be written down somewhere. Hard to keep track.

the leafs also have zero need for Lemieux. they already have too many guys for the bottom 6 and pretty much all of em are better than Lemieux. they need Holl a heck of a lot more.

Ok, good. Because it seems this trade is counter-productive for both teams.

You said bottom 6. Because Petan and Boyd are obviously as good.

yes, i said "pretty much all of the bottom 6 guys" so, that means most of the guys the leafs have who can or will play in their bottom 6 are better than Lemieux.
So, assuming Mikheyev is on the 2nd line, that leaves Kerfoot, Engvall, Robertson, Thornton, Spezza, and Barbanov who are probably their best bet at being in the line up and Simmonds is the only one of them that is probably clearly worse than Lemieux, and that could change pretty fast if Simmonds is actually healthy for the first time in like 3 years

The leafs bottom 6 is by far more soft skill type players than Lemieux. No questions there. I think you should be able to tell that the leafs needs some serious sandpaper in that line up. Lemieux is grit, he hits a ton, actually has offensive skill as well. He is the player Toronto desperately needs. Unless you like the team being skilled but softer than baby 💩..

Yeah, making a not great defensive unit worse is a sure fire way to fix it
