Can't possibly think of a reason for the Wild to trade Sturm for two goaltenders like that.

Detroit trading a good defensive prospect for two cap dumps, a 3C, and a mid round 2nd? No thanks.

Eugene Melnyk called, he wants you in his office immediately!!

Well this was a fun way to absolutely blow up the rebuild, lol

Moberg was a 7th round pick, and as much as I like Kane, he's going to be 32 this month

What a bad plan for Ottawa at this stage. Kane is a fantastic player, but that's an insane haul for Ottawa to be giving up for a guy who doesn't fit the window at all. Ottawa isn't winning frig all in the next three years, with or without Kane, who they are probably trading at the deadline in his last year because it's very unlikely either side would be interested in keeping him in Ottawa when he's going to be 35+. The huge chunk of future pieces gave up in this deal all have their whole careers still ahead of them, when they could have been part of the long term solution in Ottawa.

I agree teams don't pay to have cap dumped on them. Since McIassc's development has been pushed back another season so they can fix the other shoulder it makes Wallinder much more valuable.

Wallinder was easily my favorite pick of the draft when you factor in draft position for value (loved Raymond, but wasn't surprised to get him at 4)

I have incredibly high hopes for Wallinder and wouldn't trade him for anything short of a blockbuster at this stage. I don't want to put too lofty of a comparison on him, but he reminds me of Hedman.
