SJ says no. Youd need to add someone like Bemstrom, Texier or Foudy to this trade. Plus Nyquist is out for a while, you dont trade long term injured players

What the heck is that Detroit trade all about???
Why would CBJ "cap dump" and pay Detroit to take these 2 players?
Robinson alone is worth a 4th or so, and Grigorenko is probably worth a 3rd.

No way on earth does San Jose give up Timo for that. There is literally no way.

For a 3rd and a 4th Detroit passes. Grigorenko hasn't played an NHL game since the 2016-17 season and since he is a UFA at the end of this season I don't see many teams willing to give up a 3rd for him.

Hey take my garbage welcome Timo! Im pretty sure PLD or Werenski isnt moving anytime soon so quite frankly CBJ doesnt have an asset that would make me trade Timo.

Just to really hammer it home, this isn't enough for the Sharks to even consider. Needs to be quality over quantity and this frankly ain't that.

Great for him. He netted 26 points last year and is 31. I think we will keep the guy whos 23 and has a possibility of being an actual consistent 40 goal scorer

he has not sniffed 40 goals. One year he barely cracked 30, and looks to be more of a 20 some goal scorer. And while that's really great. Lets not over inflate value there.

And even if Cam is 31, he has not declined and odds that you keep the guy who is 23 when the team is basically in rebuild mode is slim. Especially considering some of the dead weight unmovable contracts like Vlasic.

Okay then tell me why a team in rebuild mode gives up the 23 year old for a 31 year old? That makes far less sense. Offer up a comparable prospect and we can talk

Foudy is not on the same level at all. Hes good but he doesnt have any first line potential

what???????????????????????
I hate to break it to you but he's no 2nd round pick with a name. He was taken 18th overall. There isn't a single player drafted that high that doesn't have top line potential, and if you bothered to watch him play at all he flashed that speed all over the place in the playoffs coming in at just turned 20 years old. You over here in lala land. Honestly what did Timo do in his 20 year old year? Oh that's right, jack **** too!
But hey, he has no 1st line potential because you said it.

Timo was drafted 9th overall in the best draft in 10 years. Foudy was 18th in an okay draft, they are not the same level. If Foudy is a top liner to you then keep him, but I dont think anyone would evaluate his game that way.

The year Timo was 20 he tore it up in the AHL and got 6 points in the NHL. He got 21 goals at 21 and 30 at 22. He managed 22 goals last year playing on a dog-**** team. His numbers playing in the CHL were significantly better than Foudy's were, and there's a lot of reasons Timo went where he did in one of the deepest drafts we've seen in a long ass time.

Like, I get it, Foudy (or "Snacks" as we call him in my household) has tons of potential. He's fast as **** and is favored to be a damn good NHL player - and unless Columbus is desperate for forwards, I suspect he spends part of the next season up in Cleveland.

The offer as it stands though is still deeply not beneficial to San Jose, and at this point I'm not entirely sure that it's all that beneficial to CBJ either. As it was originally slated, it would have given the Jackets a top line of Timo - Luc - Cam and as someone who claims the Jackets as a team-in-law, I cannot deny that that would be a hell of a line. Timo-Luc-Bjorky just doesn't have quite the same zing to it.

Regardless, it would take something along the lines of "Atkinson, Foudy, a conditional 2022 2nd round pick that turns into a 1st round pick if the Jackets make the 2nd round, and probably a 2021 3rd" to get Timo out of San Jose.
