what???????????????????????
I hate to break it to you but he's no 2nd round pick with a name. He was taken 18th overall. There isn't a single player drafted that high that doesn't have top line potential, and if you bothered to watch him play at all he flashed that speed all over the place in the playoffs coming in at just turned 20 years old. You over here in lala land. Honestly what did Timo do in his 20 year old year? Oh that's right, jack **** too!
But hey, he has no 1st line potential because you said it.
The year Timo was 20 he tore it up in the AHL and got 6 points in the NHL. He got 21 goals at 21 and 30 at 22. He managed 22 goals last year playing on a dog-**** team. His numbers playing in the CHL were significantly better than Foudy's were, and there's a lot of reasons Timo went where he did in one of the deepest drafts we've seen in a long ass time.
Like, I get it, Foudy (or "Snacks" as we call him in my household) has tons of potential. He's fast as **** and is favored to be a damn good NHL player - and unless Columbus is desperate for forwards, I suspect he spends part of the next season up in Cleveland.
The offer as it stands though is still deeply not beneficial to San Jose, and at this point I'm not entirely sure that it's all that beneficial to CBJ either. As it was originally slated, it would have given the Jackets a top line of Timo - Luc - Cam and as someone who claims the Jackets as a team-in-law, I cannot deny that that would be a hell of a line. Timo-Luc-Bjorky just doesn't have quite the same zing to it.
Regardless, it would take something along the lines of "Atkinson, Foudy, a conditional 2022 2nd round pick that turns into a 1st round pick if the Jackets make the 2nd round, and probably a 2021 3rd" to get Timo out of San Jose.
