Imo it is. Wouldn't want Kreider's contract right now, too hefty for a 30 year-old

Kreider is way too valuable to the Rangers team for Gorton to trade. Also FYI Kreider finished 2nd in fastest skater at the last all star game and is an absolute beast physically. Signing someone Kreider's age to a seven year contract is risky, unless the player is in the type of physical condition that Kreids is in. Also the guy is completely dedicated to hockey, probably more so than any other player in the league.

You might not think that physical strength and speed, conditioning, and dedication to always being at your best for every game is all that important, but the Yotes do... Which is why the Yotes had draft picks taken away for illegally trying to draft a prospect that's in elite physical condition of the likes of Kreids.

Also in addition to being a physical beast, one of the fastest skaters in the game, and having one of the best net front presences - if not thee best... Kreider also brings many other intangibles to the Rangers that the Yotes are completely lacking.

Kreider jumping out of a pool...

I understand. You're probably right. I still think having Kreider as a 3LW at $6.5M is a disservice.

Panarin shoot right, so why not LW Kreider Lafreniere and RW Panarin Kakko and use Buch on the 3LW

Panarin is so much more dangerous shooting with his stick toward the net. it'll just dilute his ability. I think Kreider could work at RW

I like the idea, would hinge on if we can use schmatlz as a center, he’s played a bit with Panarin which could be good. We’d need to add I’ll try making something up right now

You could try an idea of Deangelo vs Dvorak. Hjalmarsson, Goligoski and Demers are all UFA next season

I'd be all for that but would DeAngelo and the Coyotes be a good fit again?

Idk foreal. I don't think he was a misfit, just unproven. Arizona seems to like scumbags too

So it appears as though you value schmaltz the way you value Strome. (Not a very good C and plays RW) but you want to swap them essentially so we have the highest salary of the 2 with no guarantee that chemistry will be there. And yours flipping Kreider for a 2nd and 3rd. (I know the way I’ve laid it out isn’t how you have the trades set up, just from a rangers point of view what you have done)

Schmaltz is better than Strome on every account. The contract is irrelevant to the players. What I was trying to do was move Kreider for a top 6 C and use strome as a draft pick mule in a sense.

Ok, you literally said he was weak at C and played RW last year so it’s a bit deceiving. Not saying I don’t like the idea, would be nice to strengthen the top6 and bring up more youth or a bargain deal on a guy like AA for our 3rd line

Hes ok at faceoffs, below average for a center but above average for a winger. The advantage is he is a right handed shot so you can better choose where the puck goes from the dot

Quoting: Stanley_Cup_To_Manhattan
I've heard so many people say he sucks at face-offs tho

Career average of 38.7% is very bad.

Let me backtrack, he's not "bad" at C just better at W. Schmaltz is also better than Strome defensively so I'll take him.
