I’d probably say Toronto #1 but Edmonton #2

# 1 maybe in the regular season but like some of the above comments have mentioned not with that pair as your goaltenders. Why don’t you ask the Leaf fans how they have faired with below average play in goal in the playoffs? How many teams have scored their way to a Stanley Cup like in the Gretzky era lately? May sound harsh but the facts don’t lie.

NAH. They have the best one-two punch of stars in the league but in terms of depth, defence and goaltending, they are average at best. They are good, I'd say they are canada's 3rd best team trailing the flames and leafs.

I don’t think the Oilers D core is as bad as we all make them out to be. I think it’s similar to the Leafs issue of Forwards missing assignments, not back checking, or getting out muscled.
Nurse is a solid d man
Larsson is a great 3-4 d man (any other team would be happy to have him.)
Klefbom is good when healthy.
We will see what Bear and Jones turn into.
But get your forwards doing the above and you’ll be alright.

As an Oilers fan I'll admit Toronto is better but after that Edmonton has the best chance finishing second over all, goaltending was average last year, the D got better offensively but it would take Jones breaking out and a healthy Larsson to make up for Klefboms overall D loss, which is very likely. Edmonton got significantly deeper up front. The Oilers finished first out of all Canadian teams last year, obviously an all Canadian division is different. Oilers out scored the other team more night then they didn't and with added additions they will probably out score even more this year. Calgary got worse this offseason besides Markstrom, whom I'm not convinced will all of a sudden turn a sinking franchise around. Vancouver lost depth throughout their roster and a lateral move in net. Plus the Oilers have 2 of the best forward in the league. However, when it comes to the playoffs I can't say **** until they do something.

Coming from a rebuilding team, that talked about trading away all their star players for a few seasons now, who also lost their D core this offseason. Best of luck to yea 🐢

If the Oilers are so bad, how come they were No. 1 in Canada last year? More importantly, who in their right mind would think that Toronto would be No. 1?

Goaltending? Let's look at goaltending NUMBERS for a minute:
1. WPG - Connor Hellebuyck SV % .922
2. CGY - Jacob Markstrom SV % .918
3. EDM - Mikko Koskinen SV % .917
4. MTL - Carey Price SV % .909
5. TOR - Freddie Andersen SV % .909 <<<
