STL doesn't want nylander unless sandin is in the deal, and even then, they prob say no

Yup, this team would kill, one change I would make...

Kerfoot-Matthews-Hyman
Mikheyev-Tavares-marner

Not a fan of trading either one of those players but this works.

STL finished mid-tier last year for goals-for-per game but was 5th overall in goals against. They need to increase production and with the cap flat, Nylander's contract value makes him an effective trade piece.

mmmm not really. Lol it's difficult to find a top pairing RHD that's Top3 defensively, and you think that's going to even be considered when weighing in the next man up is FAULK I'm sorry, but that's actually hilarious you think that would even move the plate. You have to OVERPAY for him to get moved especially not that AP27/7 is gone. Marner+Sandin+1st is probably what gets it done. You all are like haha that's ridiculous not really you tell me what happens if we drop the Parayko bs and see what happens with Toronto. If you got him team gets better and no matter how you slice it blues get worse in this deal. You have no freaking clue why this isn't even close to fair. Not even one bit.

you make it sound like they didn't just lose their franchise level captain for nothing

they added krug who will add some offence for them, but defensively idk, parayko is basically essential

Why would Blues make it to where their top RHD is faulk for a Nylander, when we could just sign Granlund? Or better yet just move Thomas up the lineup because he's really gotten better.

given the flat cap, I think nylander would get the biggest return right now especially after his production this past season. I would hate to trade him but marners contract is too steep sadly.

I agree with you to a certain extent. I don't think the blues say yes either, but tbh marner would be a tougher sell. With the flat cap, the blues wouldn't be able to pay marner unless they give up 1 or 2 valuable pieces. Nylander is young, has a great contract, and signed for multiple years. I think it would take sandin instead of dermott and probably picks but I wouldn't say it's far off by any stretch.

Tampa payed a high end prospect and a 1st for him. I wouldn’t say so. Plus 0 chance Coleman gets traded

I would agree but his numbers are pretty decent and he was traded to tampa for a very similar deal

That was also an overpay. Trading a 1st, 2nd and a player for someone you’re gonna slot in the 3rd line is a overpayment imo.

overpayment is expected in a trade like this. Tampa gains very little from this deal, but toronto gains a gritty forward that can score and kill penalties (as a center). I honestly don't think this deal even gets it done for tampa.

That Tampa trade is about the worse trade posted this season.
Coleman is a good 3C, but only signed for one year. Leafs have plenty of 3C and 4Cs. And to trade a top 4 Dman on good contract, Holl, plus a first and second rounder.
Maybe if you include Cirilli It's fair deal.

I like holl a lot actually, but his trade value is hard to quantify because on most teams with good D he is not a top for dman. Hes a good shutdown D but he's not physical enough and I would rather have bogo on the 3rd pair as a tough guy for half the price. Yes Coleman only has 1 year left but so does Thorton, Simmonds, Rielly, Andersen, etc... the leafs are hopefully gonna make a decent cup run and Coleman was great for tampa during the playoffs

Teams don't trade 3 good pieces for a 3C with one year remaining . Thornton and Simmons cost the Leafs no assets. Sure Anderson is gone at the end of the year but there is 5m for another goalie. Reilly has two years left. Bogo has been bad for years, except briefly with Tampa. Holl is a 20 minute a game players, a plus player on a great 2m X 3 contract. You know this ranking of players as second or third pair is absolute nonsense. Sure Bogo might play the fewest minutes,16 minutes so if that makes him third pair...so be it. But Holl will likely play 20 minutes again and Brodie 20 minutes maybe more.
Yeah the going price for Coleman for a season and half and two playoffs was a Tampa's first rounder. Coleman's value now..one season and one playoff in far lower now. I'll stay it again, might be the worse trade posted this season.

On Tampa he probably plays 20 min as they would only have 2RHD. There are roughly 110 min to spread between McDonaugh Hedman sergachev Cernak and Holl.
