Meh at best? Sid is among the best 200 foot centres in the league...

yeah but i feel like he has only recently started playing better defense cause the game is speeding up and he is getting older so its easier to play like a dman

No. He has always been regarded high defensively.

i think you can add point to tier 2 and merge both tiers 3 and 4, all pretty similar, i think petey will get to tier 2, and barkov has the upside for tier 2 as well imo

May be an unpopular opinion, but I think Pettersson has already passed Barkov and could easily slot in the third tier, if not the 2nd

?? He doesn't even play center. Age aside, not a chance I take Pettersson ahead of Barkov.

he put up 70 points twice tho before he even had marchand and pasta he would be just as good with wingers worse then them

The times he put up 70 points were earlier in his career when guys typically are better offensively and not as strong defensively. Those two years he put up over 70 points he had 0 selke votes. It wasn’t till 2009/10 when his game matured and he started improving his defensive side.

Again not a knock of Bergeron. The dude is a first ballot HOFer. But I’m definitely not putting him in the top tier of centre’s

Nope. But he never said that anyway so not sure how this was brought up.

I have to agree. Maybe switch him with Couturier.

He played LW almost exclusively last year. JT Miller was the center on that line.

I hope you know that taking face offs and playing centre are different things.

Yes 57 and 64 points aren’t the crazy high numbers (and PPG) he’s put up over the last few seasons. Also marchand is interesting as well because he definitely didn’t start his career as an elite player. Both interesting cases

I just really don’t know what to say to this other than handedness for strong and weak sides come into play for both offensive and defensive zones.

Miler is way stronger at face offs than Petterson. This is why he would take the majority. However the rest of the offensive, neutral zone, and defensive positioning had Miller in the LW spot.

Anytime I've every checked dailyfaceoff it's showed Petterson at centre.
