Prospect Pyramid for LA Kings

Description
For those of you who are unsure of what it is, it is simply a way of ranking prospects in tier levels rather than individual level. In other words, each tier represents a certain potential for the prospects. Tiers 1-3 will be for-sure NHL'ers in my opinion, ranging in impact. Tiers 4-5 I see little chance of NHL time.

I tried to rank them in my personal order within each tier. So my example is I rank Gabe Vilardi higher than Turcotte, personally. I also tried to take into account NHL-readiness. This explains why I have Grundstrom so high. While I think Grans, Madden, Thomas, etc are higher potentials overall, Grundstrom is closer to the NHL and seems to have a role carved out next year.

Tier 1 = LW -- Superstar/Elite level prospect
Tier 2 = C -- Top line or Elite 2nd line potential/ Really good Top 4 Dman
Tier 3 = RW -- Bottom 6 (Ranging from Pretty Good 3rd liner to consistent ice time 4th liner)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tier 4 = LD -- Needs to do more to prove they can carve out some NHL time. Not likely
Tier 5 = RD -- Won't see NHL time in my opinion.
Tier 6 = G -- Goalie rankings

I'm going off of NHL rookie rules to make the list. Combination of age or certain amounts of games played = not listed. I took exception for Cal Peterson since he's 26 but is just about to get his real shot at starting in net this year.

I think Faber can jump a tier still in a year or two, great pick by GM Blake!

Here's to hoping. Defense is where the Kings are "thin" comparatively with regards to their prospect pool. It would be great if Faber could become a no-doubt top-4 player. I still have full confidence he'll make the NHL, though, which is why I have him in Tier 3.

I'd move up Grans.

A tier or just within Tier 3? I tried to take NHL-readiness a little bit into account for my personal rankings, and I think Grans is still 3 years away personally. That's the only reason he's below a guy like Grundstrom. I think he'll need some time to adjust his defensive game, but when he does his overall ceiling is higher than a few on the list above him.

I'm actually starting to think our defense is not as bad as we thought, once they get their top defensive line player there is a lot of options for that bottom 4:

2021 draft pick-Doughty
Bjornfot-Grans
Hutton-Spence
Anderson-Roy
Klague-Faber

Your tiers are so wide. Why would an elite first liner be the same tier as a borderline second liner

very interesting and doesn't seem like there's much bias. great post. I would maybe even have a couple players jump a tier- guys like Fagemo to tier 2 or Madden to tier 2. I can see why you might be kind of skeptical of Madden though due to size, but Fagemo is a very interesting prospect. Overall though, this is solid. LA's prospect pool is probably my favorite in the whole NHL

Sorry if my description was tough to read. Tier 2 isn't "elite first liner", for me. It's players who might play on the first line OR Elite 2nd liners. To me, "Elite" 1st liners are saved for tier 1 status.

I know analysts like Pronman are salivating over Fagemo. I hope he proves me wrong, but I don't see a player that's more than a contributing 3rd line winger who can play up the lineup in the event of an injury. I still have yet to see Madden play at any pro level, so I don't want to overhype myself on him just yet. If he plays 2nd line minutes for the Kings, it'll be on the wing.

Surely you meant Hults? (This is the kind of mental-hangover mis-key I would make.)

Really well done. Very impressive.

I'm hoping Durzi and Chromiak get there, but I share your doubts about everyone else in Tiers 4 and 5.

He definitely should be in there, my biggest omission is Walker though which was just a brain fart.
