Middle:

Offensively Matthews can kind of keep up with the other two (and Matthews isn't terrible defensively).
Makar vs Hughes vs Dahlin is a wash, but Dahlin has much more experience and resume. On the flipside, the other two have just as much potential and ability.

I can't even really answer this to be honest. Yeah Levi had a great tournament but it was also in front of 19 first round picks, and his performances preceding the tournament got him drafted in the 7th round. The Canadian core is probably the best outside of goaltending, but right now Levi is too unpredictable.

I think Matthews is (failing that will be for the future) better than Draisaitl (as he is much better defensively), and I think Hughes is better than Dahlin. Again, goalies you never know, I wasn't impressed with Askarov in the WJC and I was impressed by Knight, but who knows. I guess I will go USA then because Knight is the most predictable goalie.

During the WJC Askarov made far too many mistakes for a first round goaltender
Plus his glove hand is weak and he cant hold his stick for more than 15 minutes without losing it

He was "yiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiikes" in the rest of the tourney.

idk if yikes even does it justice, he was straight-up bad in a lot of those games. Soft goals and poor decisions were the norm, he looked like he was scrambling the whole tournament

Clearly you didnt watch him and probably just the scores.

I watched the goalie himself, he was not good. Doesn't mean his future is ruined, just means he had a bad tourney.

Sums it up pretty well. He never looked in control of the game - I'd call it chasing the game, which is not what you want from your starter.

i also watched askarov INTENCELY he played good enough to win, very focused on the puck, came up big on numours occations cocky but did play the puck too much and didnt hold onto his stick
