You should stick to your team. You clearly dont know the value of Danault and the purpose of making a trade. MTL trade away 3 top 6 players for 1 top 6 guy and a bottom line and older guy. That is simply horrendous. Pls abstain from making any habs trade.

This is a dump. Why would the Jackets want this trade? Tatar’s deal is up this year and Kotkaniemi isn’t that good. Not sure what the CBJ are actually getting here besides a 2nd round pick? Do you see this to be even/fair?

Pretty good value actually. I was debating whether Tatar should even be a part of it. KK isn’t far off of PLD but he’s got a few more years til he’s fully there.

If you’re MTL? Because you can make your team better for a long time. And because it just feels like they are gonna make the move.

If you think they are basically the same player why make the trade? I just don’t think it’s enough coming to the CBJ. You can’t assume only on Kotkaniemi future play and Tatar’s contract isn’t long enough. Maybe Drouin, Kotkaniemi, & a pick?

I could have swapped Danault for KK but you wouldn’t be happy about that either. And yes, trading for future play is why you make trades. You are essentially trading expected performance at various points in the future. Domi for Anderson was trading expected future performance.

Yes. But they were RFA not UFA. Big difference. Both Danault and Tatar’s contracts are up. They are UFA. We can sign them in the summer. We don’t have to trade for them. You are just dumping them. Those are guys you give up at the trade deadline if you don’t make the playoffs to get picks or players. We get nothing out of this. This trade needs to work both ways.
