How Much For Mete

Created by: Guentzelvania
Team: 2020-21 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 24, 2021
Published: Jan. 24, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Penguins need defenseman, bad. Mete isn’t playing in MTL and isn’t going to any time soon. He’s young, he’s good, he fits the Pittsburgh system. Would love him in the Burgh. What’s the ideal deal to get him in black and gold?

2022 1st round pick
We don’t want to trade him, if someone gets injured he’s our best option. Maybe a 2nd round pick + another pick might get our attention, but anything under a 2nd round pick is a NO right away

In terms of value based off his age and position I would say a and 2nd rounder would work. But I dont see them getting rid of him during this season with depth being so important this year

Riikola+2nd.

No point moving a young D for cheap. They'd need a replacement.

wait why do the penguins " need defenseman"
In case you missed it they are doing just fine. Hell only got one on IR.

Second these over valuation of this guy are hilarious.

Third, I don't want a 5'9 midget defenseman to begin with. That just doesn't work for us.

The pens aren’t paying big for a Dman unless it’s an upgrade on MP and they use MP in a trade. It’s just bad business to give up a ton for a dman that’s simply going to be exposed in the expansion draft or exposes MP in the draft.

1st round pick seems way too high for a dude who is scratched over Joel Edmundson

I know but they wont trade their only 2021 2nd round pick ( no first and no third ), that's why I said maybe 2nd + another pick in 2022. Anyway it's not a question what Mete is worth, it's why would we trade him

hi, interesting how much you demand for a player who is currently sitting on bench. this is absolutely unrealistic. you should let him go because he has no chance to become regular nhler in your organization. few years back 1st d-pairing with weber, previous season 3rd pairing, this year taxi squad guy ... what will be next?

Nothing that I say is unrealistic. Mete won’t be move for anything less than a 2nd and probably another pick. Marc Bergevin likes depth, Mete got outplayed by Kulak, that’s it. If someone gets injured, a LHD or RHD, Mete jumps in. He might not have a future with the team, but we need him this season. Not hard to understand, we won’t trade our depth for something mediocre ( like a 3rd round pick or B prospect )
