    Not to mention including him in any deal to unload Rask, who they could just buy out or better yet just keep him and let his deal expire if they are rebuilding.

    As a non-Wild fan, I am not of the school of thought of a full fledged rebuild at all.

    1. The depth the Wild have on the wing is better than most teams - and outside of Zucc and Parise, it's younger and pretty talented. You can work with that.

    2. Any thoughts of a full feldged rebuild flew out the window with Spurgeon resigning. So, a top 4 or he, Brodin, Suter amd Dumba is pretty dang solid. Addison will come - and the Wild could stand to fill out some organizational depth here, but that top 4 is set for another 3-4years.

    3. Kähkönen.

    4. We can talk about the real lack of centre depth, but if all things go to plan, are Rossi, Boldy and Erikkson-Ek not good? Again, organizationally this could stand some filling out, but it seems to me there is direction here.

    5. With the expiring deals here, Guerin has options.

    Bonino should fetch a 3rd or a grade B prospect at least.

    Johanson should fetch a 3rd or a grade B prospect at least.

    Either playet could start to fill out organizational needs.

    Point I am making is this is a team in a spot that need to be filling out the edges imo, not blowing it up.

    @TanSor Thoughts?

    Boldy isn't a center. He's a wing. Eriksson Ek is having a great year and he's young, Rossi is still probably a couple years away from being a top 6 center, though maybe next year he could be their 3C? They really need a guy to play in their top 6 now to go along with Ek, but who and what would it cost?

    The problem with the options for trading expiring deals is Guerin might be fooled into thinking the team has a chance if they can make the playoffs and not trade those expiring deals. Stupid and short-sighted, I blame LA and St. Louis for winning Cups when they were in a bad position to do it. lol

    This team sort of has rebuilt already outside of our blue line. Parise, Ek, Greenway, and Foligno are basically the only forwards left from our core 3-4 years ago and our goalies are all new. We just need a good center, maybe two depending on Rossi's health condition. Problem is teams aren't stumbling to give one up. I think if we had say a Barkov and Rossi turns into a solid 2nd liner, we'd be in the playoff conversation.

    I think Rossi is going to be a top 6 centre in 21/22 or 22/23. Watching him with '67s he's going to be just fine at centre in NHL, biggest thing will be strength, but I think he'll be fine there, he's short, not tiny. Really smart player, Wild got a good one.

    Those expiring contracts really aren't worth anything right now. You couldn't give away Bjugstad and MarJo, Bonino and Cole would need to be retained on and still maybe get a couple of 3rds for each of them. Come the TDL the GM is going to come out and say "we're going to stick with what we have and see what happens." The reality will be that nobody will want the Wild's rentals, and he's saving face by saying that.

    The JEE line, Kaprizov (on a line by himself), goalies, and the d-corps (except Spurgeon) are carrying the team.
