We don't have cap space to keep Armia and Perry on the roster. Either Perry goes back to the taxi squad or Armia has to be traded once healthy. Otherwise yeah you keep both.

We are good. We are actually paying both Armia and Perry on our cap. I’d put Byron in the stands and play Perry on the 4th with Evans and Lehkonen while Armia goes back on the 3rd line with Kk and Toffoli

By the time Perry becomes waiver eligible again we’ll have accrued enough cap space to have him on the team full-time. And there’s still a good chance that no one claims him even if we put him on waivers again.

MTL keeps the phone ringer on LOUD for sure but no need to trade him yet (one injury and boom - kaos)!
JA is a UFA so play it for a while and act when the TDL nears or the offer from another club is to good to resist.
For now, MB should keep the entire squad as happy as possible and not upset the apple/pomme cart...

Actually Perry's not on the cap right now and his 30/10 clock has not started yet. Perry was recalled as an emergency player therefore his salary does not count against the cap as he is technically still on the taxi squad.

That's a good approach as long as Armia is out long enough to build cap space. Because he has not even participated in a practice yet I feel like he will miss a couple of weeks. So your approach works.

I wasn't saying trade him now I was asking what the best approach should be. I like Armia and would love to keep both him and Perry. I just didn't see a way to do that until Kotkaniemi15 reminded me they would build enough cap space with Armia out.

If there's Cap then both will play for MTL.
Lots of back to backs and a low number of games but on a condensed sched. And old man "Worm Perry" will need his rocking chair once and a while...

It doesn’t matter when Armia is back. If he’s back before Perry’s 10 games are up, then we can just send him to the taxi-squad and have more than enough cap space. If he’s back after Perry’s 10 games, then we’ll have enough cap space to keep Perry on the roster.

Like I said above I dont think Perry is on the cap yet as he was an emergency call up. But yeah I see what you are saying lol.

Here is why I think he does not count against the cap yet.

I could be wrong but they are dropping Perry to the taxi squad between games because he's an emergency recall or whatever. They should have enough cap space to have both of them on the roster full time by the time armia is back

Yes but he plays the right side which is what we need, it doesn't really matter what handed they are as long as they play right D

CapFriendly was under the impression that Byron was injured. Under the CBA, he can’t be an emergency call up if we already have 18 healthy skaters.

He is still listed as Emergency Loan

Probably because the people in charge of CapFriendly don’t have time to make sure every single transaction that isn’t explicitly announced is correct. They also have Montreal’s daily cap hit going up when he’s called up, which is on disagreement with him being on an emergency loan.
