Close to the same but Engvall is cheaper and signed longer.

        You are suffering from homerism.

I’m in on Rakell, like the player and more so cause he has another year on he’s deal. IMO two prospects and a 1st should do it. They’ve got no use for Engvall.

Too much for Iafallo IMO expiring deal

Love the Jersey trade but can’t see any scenario where NJD entertain this. Pretty lopsided in Leafs favour.

Would take Garland in a heart beat

Not really, Engvall is a 4th liner/healthy scratch on a team with less depth. Bennett is a 3rd liner that is misused

I'm in on the Rakell trade.

I'd like better pieces (meaning players, not the pick) but bottom-dwelling beggars can't be choosers.

I’m fine with either, actually would prefer zacha. I wasn’t sure which the devils would be more willing to part with. Just a base for an offer.

You two duke it out lol.

Just a base for a trade. Would be willing to offer up other prospects. Hollowell has looked pretty impressive so I used him as he is an rhd.

You are not getting neimila Sandin amirov or Robertson the rest are negotiable.

I did not, I should read my bad. Gotta think Wood’s value is pretty high right now, but either player would be a nice addition.

Less depth? Our taxi squad has more points than your bottom 6...

The reason I don’t see Bennet as a good move is he is most likely 4th line/taxi squad when Thornton and Robertson return.

Zacha has more value but if Devils were to trade one of them, it would be Zacha since the Devils have a ton of centers. With Zacha 50% retained, it would cost Lehtonen and a first (based on the Coleman trade last season)

The Coleman trade last year was stupid... they win a cup and now all of the sudden it is the greatest trade ever lol.

1st or 2nd is debatable for sure. Think it would depend on Toronto’s needs and what’s on the market.

I think that your first four picks from 2020 are temporarily untouchable (or should be, until you have time to see what you've got), and Liljegren is too much to ask for, even in a "second plus" deal instead of the first-plus shown. I'd prefer Malgin over Engvall.

Engvall is there for cap reasons. Malgin could be part of the deal. He and Petan are both types of guys you could inject into the lineup for energy. Engvall is less of an energy player and more of a touch and thinker type. Good defensively but nothing flashy.

"NJ was all in on Lehtonen" may be a stretch. I think they kicked the tires perhaps. Obviously found some better options for them.

I do not think NJD would be trading for 2 months of Lehtonen under any scenario.

They were all in on him and actually thought they were the front runner right up till he signed with toronto.

It would be 2 months to give him the playing time to see if he is worth re signing. Splitting time with Dermott and limited role with Toronto will not give much of a forecast.

It’s not exactly lehtonen for zacha here lol. Putting him in to make up the small amount the value is off and give him the chance to play.

I don't think NJD was ever past, "maybe take a flyer on this guy"

I think Sandin or Liljergren may be options here, but NJD isn't trading for 27-year old rentals on the roster bubble.

I'd do that for Wood. Not a fan of Zacha though.

I’m just going by what was reported not “what you think”

I don’t know what part you are missing about the fact that this trade is not lehtonen for zacha one for one. Please review the trade.

Zacha isn’t bad. Good on the pk too. Big frame if he starts using it. Can play up and down the lineup on wing or centre. Wouldn’t it be nice to put kerfoot up on the wing and have Mikheyev-zach-Simmonds on the 3rd line? Would be a nice shutdown line that could contribute offensively.

It was not reported the way you say it was. I am trying to be polite.

        Engvall doesn't move the needle.

All I can really say is I haven't liked what I've seen when watching him play, and the analytics (that I've seen) seem to reaffirm my notions about him. Just not high on the guy.
