Solid pass from MTL, this doesn’t help our team win short term as Compher is a downgrade for danault

not worth it at all. however...Col has other Dmen which could change things...Byram, Girard? lol At this point it wouldn't happen.
For what it's worth I think TImmins is going to be great, he's just playing behind a lot of excellent dmen.

If you'd watch Habs games these days you'd realize that the team is pretty much set. The only incentive to flip Danault or Mete is if MTL is out of the playoff race come TDL, which at this point seems very unlikely.

I can't see MTL shipping out Danault at this point. They'll hang onto him for their playoff run then figure it out after that, even if they have to let him walk.

I was kinda just playing with the idea of how Mete could work for Colorado. He has asked for a trade after all.

My thinking is that Mete would only be the 8D on the Avs, unless Timmins went the other way (or Graves, but Avs can't afford to give up a big Dman or we'll be too small, especially with Mete). But if Timmins is involved we'd need Danault included, and for that to work, Avs add another 1st.

But yeah I totally get where you're coming from. Montreal are probably best served keeping Danault and dealing Mete somewhere else where he's a better fit in the top 6.

I don’t think this makes a lot of sense for either team besides slotting Danault at 3C for COL right now. MTL’s defense has been playing great so Timmins isn’t as appealing as he might be, and Compher well JT needs to figure it out.

I agree. I saw a couple of other Avs AGM's featuring Mete and thought I'd give it a shot as well. I don't really see a fit tbh.

Yeah it doesn’t. Avs just have to ride the injury wave out unfortunately. Bowers will play tonight and Jost is going to get more pt at C so maybe that shows Bednar JT should be on the wing.

Man, if Bowers can become an impact bottom 6 center for the Avs that would be huge right now. Not expecting much though given that he's seemingly way down on Bednar's depth chart.

If MTL is out of the playoffs (which I don’t think they will be) then I think this would be a good deal for them. Gives them a new 3C as well as a promising young RHD + 1st. I think the deal works in a vacuum, but MTL will just not have interest in this deal this year as they look to be bound for the playoffs.

All I want to see from him is solid defensive play and be solid with the puck, doesn’t need to score doesn’t need to be flashy, just be solid.

Same here. I don't care about his offense as long as he can be real solid defensively. I'd absolutely love it if he could develop into a 3C like Yelle for us.

That said, he's not playing tonight. Bednar prefers to play Dries...

It’s so stupid. The team is richly rewarded for playing young dmen, then refuses to play forward prospects in favor of guys that have proven they aren’t the answer. So asinine

To be fair the lineup is really depleted and the center depth is really hurting, so I don't really blame an NHL coach for going with the guy he knows rather than the question mark, even if the question mark is shinier. We'll see Bowers in due time, probably after he's played a few AHL games. There will always be opportunities to play him ahead of the likes of Sherwood or Bellemare.
