All Tkachuk talks about is wanting to be on a winning team. If the Flames do this, they'd have to trade him, because there's no chance he would be staying long-term.

Throw Mikheyev into the trade package from the Leafs, and the Leafs should easily accept this trade deal with the Flames

I disagree. How long are we going to waste our time with a core that does not lay it all on the line. Giordano deserves a chance to win as does Backlund. Make Tkachuk captain and build around him with speed and grit. Plenty of picks to trade or stock up the minors with. We need to get a number 1 center somehow and doing it through the draft makes sense. Tkachuk captain and Tanev, Lindholm, and Andersson as assistants all players who bring it every night.
