Rakell is a bad option for the Leafs. Not worth paying the ransom a lot of people have been asking for him.

I'm just hopping on the bandwagon, but I think this would be what Anaheim looks for.

It would be fine but the extra year poses a major issue for the Leafs and makes no sense. It would either cost them Holl in the expansion draft or Hyman by not having cap next season to re-sign him or I guess Rakell but asking for this kind of return for a rental of a 40-50 point player doesnt add up.

And then how do the Leafs protect him in the expansion draft? By all accounts the will go 4 and 4. Pay to keep him? A rental is the way to go.

Leafs have "lots" of wingers and centre . Some other team, especially a US based team would be logical choice for Rakell trade.
