Description
Obviously if Wood goes onto to score 40, this is moot. I don't think that is who he is. Debrusk has been the far better goal scorer through this point in their careers.

Murray is way better than Zboril. Murray is going to be a UFA and Zboril would likely be a protected player. If he continues to play the way he has been playing.

I can't really gauge Murray's value. I think wood and debrusk are close enough that an argument could be made for either.

Murray was traded for a 5th so I would expect some salary to be eaten as Zboril appears to be 2nd pairing material as a worst case scenario.

Why the Bruins do it:
Wood has the bit of dirty that will help, especially in the playoffs. He's just a little bit bigger and stronger. I don't think he's as good of a scorer, but he is Krejci's type of player.

They can't protect Zboril. This gives them an upgrade this season. Murray's issue is he can't stay healthy. Maybe they get Murray to sign a team friendly deal. He has top pairing potential, he just can't stay healthy.

Debrusk puts up minimum 35 points a season on the 2nd line that doesn't see nearly as much O zone time as most others in the league, you realize that right? Why would Boston trade him?

Doesn't make sense to blow up the roster this much based on where they are in the standings. Don't really see Sweeney moving anyone on the roster, only picks.

He is inconsistent. Wood is a downgrade in scoring, but an upgrade in physicality without can also score.

The problem with the idea "They cant protect Zboril" is that just because they cant protect him doesnt mean they are going to lose him/trade with SEA in order to keep him. Id rather keep the pieces we have and add to an already solid group, then make a lateral move that improves the team minimally if at all (i dont believe it does at all)

Why would the Bruins want a downgrade in scoring for size/physicality they already have on their roster? Wagner, Kuraly, Ritchie. There's no need for another grinder, they have a good balance now.

Sorry man, fine if you want physicality but you don't move a 4th liner for a 2nd line player, even an inconsistent one. DeBrusk has much more potential and you won't scare anyone when lines 2-3-4 have Ritchie-Wood-Frederic as LWs. Murray is also a rental.

I will pass on the ARI trade.

Zboril has been playing well, but not sold on him yet. Would rather keep Murray and try to resign him.

Its a no from NJD

No it isn’t.

It’s lopsided in NJ favor significantly.

Not at all...Only if you assume Zboril continues to play well enough to hold onto bottom pair LHD role and Debrusk fulfills his promise as middle-six winger.

I see no reason for NJD to accept this offer at this time.

Agreed, but wouldn't it be entertaining to watch Phil's body language on bench in game.
