Lol, if you want Avs can give you Jost as well so you can create the Avs old "college" line, Kerfoot-Jost-Compher.

Joking aside, Avs likely accept that trade, good deal.

You can argue the respective merits of McCann and Kerfoot, especially with McCann currently injured, but Dermott is clearly more valuable than Riikola.

Yea I would agree that Dermott is more valuable than Riikola. Could see the pens potentially adding a pick to even the deal out.

The current Pens 3rd line has 7pts in the last 3 games. I don't know how anyone could ask/expect more than that. The 3rd line is not the problem.

yeah i know imo the problem right now is goaltending (jarry was good last night but need consistency) and the top6. The second line ain't doing anything

the penguins don't have a need for Dermott. Like where does he fit on this team. WBS?
I'd much rather have McCann than Kerfoot.
That trade is awful for the penguins. It doesn't make them better.

And Tierney doesn't get you MP. You don't trade young good contract controlled top 4 LD for that.

I'm not the team constructor. I expressed no opinion on anything here from Pittsburgh's PoV.

The problem is the Pens current 3rd line should be their 4th line.

Dermott would go exactly where he is in this lineup. Not WBS. Don’t be an idiot. No Tierney doesn’t get you MP. Hence the pick. Gotta pay attention and actually look at the trade before commenting. I know you aren’t too sharp, but you can’t be that dumb. Come on now.

I agree and it should/would be when everyone is healthy and trades are made

That's where I disagree. That 3rd line has consistently been one of the best 2 lines on the team and you want them playing less time? How does that make sense? They are winning virtually all of their matchups, so why wouldn't you want them on the ice?

I don't disagree, that line has been great, but if the Pens want to compete for the cup this year then that line needs to be the 4th line. Aston Reese, Blueger, and Tanev will be on the ice when the other teams top line is on the ice (especially when they play at home and have the last line change) so I don't think having a "new" third line would diminish their playing time too kuch. Their role is to limit/wear down the other teams best line, which they do very well, any time they score its just an added bonus. The Pens need a competent scoring 3rd line if they want to compete this year. They also need Letang and Malkin to wake up.

Letang is what he is. What he needs is his partner to be stable and to have his back, which unfortunately he has not had since Dumo suffered his injury last season. Malkin does need to figure something out...I don't know maybe spend some time watching old video of Kennedy so he can remember to shoot the puck more.

If the BART line is going to be scoring at a 3rd line or higher pace, I think it is fine to keep it there. What the team really needs is one, maybe two pieces on the 4th that can do the wearing down of the top lines. This is what Lafferty and Jankowski can bring and are supposed to bring, but have not done so consistently enough to be effective. Not saying that Scevior is the problem, but he is not the solution either.
