I think if TOR is willing to replace Hollowell and Brooks with prospects with slightly more upside NSH accepts.

That's way too much for Ekholm. Besides he is going to get too high of an extension, maybe in the Muzzin range. And Muzzin is far better.

I would not do this if I was the leafs, but Vancouver could definitely use Rielly. He would complete their top4. But if I'm Vancouver, getting someone to play with Hughes is more important.

The Canucks defensive core is already top in the league in scoring, the problem is the defensive play which Reilly wouldn't help with

Every team could use Rielly. That said:

Rielly probably has Vancouver on his m-ntc.
Vancouver doesn't trade its lottery 1st + for one year of Rielly.

Lottery bound Canucks won't be giving up assets for one year of Reilly. Brooks and Hollawell really aren't NHL prospects of any consequence.

You could get someone better than Bonino for 3mil or you could probably get him for half that

What makes you say Muzzin is far better than Ekholm? They literally have almost identical stats over the past five seasons.

    I agree the first opinion.

Why would I rebuilding team like Vancouver need a great player like Rielly in his prime?

They need to pick up some 1st overall picks over the next 4-5 years because they definitely won't be in the playoffs.

Hyman loves playing for the Leafs....but no way he signs for 3 and a quarter.....he's gonna get at least 4.5 a year
