Other teams might interested in paying a big price for him, but not the Leafs who have plenty of wingers, and need Kerfoot this year and LIljegren this year or certainly next year.

I think Kubalik would be perfect across Nylander. Nylander the speedy playmaker passing to Kubs would be like a mini Kane Debrincat. Kubs actually has a better slapshot than Debrincat, but Debrincat's wrister is lethal. Kubs isn't quite Laine, but in all sincerity...it's REALLY good. It's at least in the conversation to Laine.

His numbers match Nylander and while Nylander is a better playmaker, Kubalik is a better shooter and I'd argue better two way guy; Hawks decline this offer pretty easily.

How bad is Kerfoot that the Leafs dump him in every trade???

Hawks decline. We don't need Kerfoot, we are deep with bottom 6 players especially at the dot and definitely don't need Lillypad who would be stuck behind Murphy, Boqvist, and Mitchell and maybe even Regula who's turning out to be a pretty hot prospect.

Additionally, the late 1st in a shallow draft year is nothing more then a bag of magic beans so not a ton of value with that pick.

If a team wants Kubalik, they need to think about Nylander's value. Kubalik is on a bridge and locked into his career, Nylander not only has a higher cap hit but is a UFA in 4 years. Understanding the contracts, cap hits, along with stats, the value in a trade are close to one another.

You can literally go through a list over the last couple years every 60 days with Leafs fans of who they want to jettison; right now it's Kerfoot. In the past two years the cycles have included Nylander, Dermott, Barrie, Kerfoot, Johnsson, Kappenen, Andersen. If a player isn't playing well for a stretch of 5 to 10 games, off with their heads on CF smile

So in the same day you have made two posts with nearly identical trades for Kubalik and Gaudreau... Neither of which get you a sniff of the player you're acquiring, go figure out what kind of value Kerfoot and Liljegren have before trying this, you clearly are in the clouds with this.

And a better contract...at least better contract guaranteed in the short term, but being an RFA could mean it's better for the long term too. That part is TBD. We don't have a crystal ball.

hypothetically lets say he is traded to toronto. would it not start with either sandin or robertson? i also agree not a good team for this trade. but those would at least peak the interested.
