doesn't make sense for either teams. Overpay for the leafs and the Wild are contenders so why would they sell?

Because we're not contenders, and selling Greenway when his value is at an all time high might be prudent given we're currently set to expose him to Seattle.

I’d want Hallander over SDA but unlikely he would be moved in season if he does go. Oddly, I’d say this could be an off-season move if TOR really liked him.

This would be a terrible trade for the wild. You do realize JG has 19 points in 26 games(I know 19 points in the North division is nothing considering they play no defense, but 19 in the west is nothing to scoff at)? And also is signed through next year at 2.1m with RFA rights??

Unless Dumba is traded, he’ll be exposed to Seattle. MIN probably can’t afford his next contract.

I see it now. Too many NMC and I missed JEE on my first scan. 8 skaters leaves Greenway/JEE exposed, 7-3-1 leaves Dumba exposed. Gonna have to ask Parise or Zuc to waive the NMC.

I’d put money on Parise waiving but that spot would protect Foligno. More than anything, the next 3 years are gonna be a cap nightmare. Odds are the Kraken take either Greenway or Soucy and I’m coming around to the idea that both will be gone next year because of their current value and cap hits.

Greenway isn't available, or going anywhere. Why would wild trade greenway for trash

This is just not true! Guerin isn't in any hurry to trade dumba . He loves dumba & has certain values of him

What people are failing to realize, Minnesota can pay Seattle to take soucy

Russo trade deadline article essentially made clear dumba isn't going anywhere , & that Greenway isn't either

It's also made clear Guerin isn't planning to sell any player including one on last year of contract if wild keep winning

Guerin doesn't want to take away from this year's roster

It's also stated Guerin Isn't worried about the extension. Fans here & other place put too much into the expansion

Nah your protect Greenway over Foligno.

I go back and forth on this and that is a good instinct. I don't know why Foligno signs in season unless he knows he's being protected. Maybe he already knows Parise or Zuccarello is going to waive for expansion or he already has an expansion assurance from Seattle. As young as the team is, Foligno will be more useful as a mentor than Greenway's middle 6 production will be. Not to mention that if he continues this and has another year like it, his arb case will get him 3.5 to 4 mil. And the Wild can't spend that much on a middle 6 guy, which is Greenway's ceiling.
