Ducks could probably sign him next year. He could end up like Verhaeghe and Marchessault did immediately after leaving Tampa.

I mean tampa needs cheap guys at the bottom of the line up, hes a rfa and going to make under a million, why move him.

It is a fair question. He has potential to be a top six forward. He has been inconsistent. On TB he is stuck on fourth line where there are 3 ahead of him fighting for 2 spots. I think the trade was to get a return for down the road and to give him a fresh start. Hope he does well.

Because they need the cap space when Mitchell Stephens comes off LTIR if he were Tuesday TB would have had to go with 5 defenseman at least that's what Julien Brisebios said
