Description

Detroit trade: Pure cap dump for MTL as Armia doesn't really seem to fit in anymore but could be very useful elsewhere, easy trade for DET to make bc Armia is a UFA + free 3rd round pick

Nashville trade: Slight overpay for Ekholm but that's fair with the Byron dump. Harris and/or Mete obviously aren't the "elite prospect" that NSH want but I have a hard time seeing them get an elite prospect from any team tbh.

Ottawa trade: Depth move, Habs now have Dzingel-Evans-Frolik to call upon. 2nd is a slight overpayment but Ottawa accepts as Dzingel is a UFA anyways. Mostly acquired as an extra scoring option in case Caufield can't keep up imo.

Chiarot would need to clear waivers in order to go on the taxi squad. No way he clears waivers. That means you have to keep him as a healthy scratch, therefore busting the cap.

I like your lineup, and I think your deals are fairly realistic, but they don’t add up under the cap
