Devils say no. I don't see why the Devils would trade Hughes for Laine. The 8th pick could be good but I don't trust this draft

I expect the Devils to say no simply because Hughes' upside is pretty damn spectacular, and there's a lot of skepticism out there right now about Laine after how this year has gone.

I think so to. If Kent Johnson was available at their pick I wouldn't mind sending them our 2021 1st, 2022 2nd, Kravtsov and Matt Robertson to move up or maybe our 1st and Buch.

Honestly it would be a waste for Columbus to do that. Just take BPA. Maybe trade Laine for Konecny + Patrick + a pick, and pretty much announce a rebuild

I dont think so. Thats the closest we can get to a young 1C and chances are 8OA won't be nearly as good as Jack and I don't like Laine tbh.

Konecny is too much like Laine and I don't think Patrick comes close to being a 1c. Hughes is a better piece than both those combined

Just no. Laine is only useful firing one timers on the PP, his defensive metrics are terrible. Hughes has taken a huge step and is driving the Devils offence every night, look at his shot contributions or any other metric.

Laine is straight up bad if you don't give him the perfect line mates and power play opportunities, like he had with the Jets.
