    I think there are a few things to consider for Montreal should Weber retire.

    True retirement: Cap Recapture hit would be about 540K x 5 years for MTL and about 4.9M x 5 years for Nashville if he retires. Yikes for Nashville.

    Next year would be 214K x 4 for MTL and 6.14M x 4 for Nashville. Yikes for Nashville even more.

    I don't think the Habs would want to LTIR him either. I wonder if Nashville trades back for him so they can LTIR him instead of eating that much cap space.

    That said, LTIR may be tricky considering that the league may reassess how this can be used going forward.

    Of course he still has about 11M cash left to be paid out ( 6,3,1,1,1). Not sure he retires this year... Maybe next?
