Dude it’s Friday and the situation is over with. No need to be redundant lol. We understand what happened and that you and others are clearly upset but you are literally beating a dead horse at this point.

On the trade part I think it would take more to get Laine at first glance since Laine is a proven assets and KK hasn’t really proven he’s anything more than a bottom 6 guy. It’s still early but compare Laine 1st 2 years vs his

KK
66gp 10g 13a 23p
48gp. 9g 8a 17p

Laine
73gp 36g 28a 64p
82gp 44g 26a 70p

Career high was last year (19-20) 63p in 68games. That’s roughly a 76 point pace in an 82 game season. That difference would cost more than a 1st rounder imo. lol went point base since neither are known for defense imo

You don’t want a player who is on pace for 29 points in a full 82 game season? That’s one entire point better than his rookie season? The first does come in a lackluster draft? Lol I’m being mean sorry 😞

Was Laine playing 3rd line in his first 2 years? I would assume not, also wasn’t he on PP1 also? Now I would calculate points per mins for each and you get a better comparison. Then I’m sure the difference isn’t much and PP1 can explain that away. Not that I wasn’t to do that trade anyways because then you factor in salaries and it’s not even close

I can completely get on board with the other side of my comment. Laine was playing w arguably better players/team. I would be interested in points per 60 to see how close they are tbh. Imo Laine is the better player by a mile but I am also open to hearing why he isn’t. Tbh idk a lot about KK. General opinions are he’s a bust or still adjusting to the league. I don’t watch him enough to have an opinion outside box scores

Laines Pts/60 5 on 5 in his first two seasons are 2.3 and 2 respectively.

Kakkos pts/60 5 on 5 in his first two years are 0.3 and 0.3 respectively.

Big difference.

Laine just costs too much based on potential for the risk that comes with him.

Here you go. Look above. It’s not even close at 5 on 5, and gets worse when you also factor in other situations. Yes laine had better line mates, but even with that taken into account, he’s still outperforming another 2nd overall pick by a country mile. It’s not even close. Laine is worth 2x what Kakko is even with his bad year in CBJ. The rangers wound have to give up like Schneider/Lundqvist + Chytil/Barron+ Lottery protected 1st to get laine IMO.

dude I'm laughing at the ridiculousness of the NHL and it's "shut up and do what you're told" mentality.

As for Laine, I know what CBJ want's I'm being realistic here. I don't see him signing long term. They are better off drafting and getting one of the best players in his weak draft class.

That’s what I thought but I wasn’t sure if I was missing something. KK might be one of those late bloomers but as it stands now he’s looking like a bottom 6 guy. Not good for a 2oa pick

Weird I knew they were fined before today. Even before it was announced common sense would have told you that they were getting a fine. Just stupid and unprofessional way to make a point. Oh well

KK is no where near the sniper that Laine can be. But his play with the puck is solid and he is only going to improve since he’s 19/20. Defensively he is way better than Laine. It’s really a tough thing to compare, what does which team need? What would benefit each team? What system would benefit each player? To many variables to really compare the 2 without putting out an unbalanced stat comparison. If they are both paid 1M to take cap hit out of the equation.. NYR needs the defensive ability more than the offensive ability which makes KK more valuable. CBJ can’t score and need PL far more than KK yet KK would fit their system better. But if you specifically want goals then Kessel and Laine are solid go to guys

Nice. Honestly that’s awesome. I’d rather have a kid learn defense than become a offense force... kind of like Stone
